A photo tour of Costa Barcelona, Spain
The play of light on the water. The scent of fresh seafood, piled high on a plate. The feeling of sand between your toes. The blinding sun reflecting off the buildings. The laughter. The silence.

When I look back on my travels, I sometimes feel it’s like watching a slideshow: timeless moments that stick in my memory. The unusual facts, the impressive sights too but often the more intangible seconds that add up to happiness.
So if I’m appealing to your head with my last post on the Costa Barcelona, 13 very good reasons to visit, this time I want only to show you, to tempt you, with a photo tour of Costa Barcelona.
Explore the scenery – from the coast to the countryside, there are endless beautiful views.
Miles and miles of glorious beach – golden sands, the ever-changing blues of the Mediterranean and a far-off horizon.
And as well as the stretches of golden sand, plenty of beach club style – palm trees and understated glamour, a contrast to the unspoiled coves.
Then take a walk in the woods – venturing up into the hills, to the biosphere reserve of Montseny, enjoying the peace among the trees and waterfalls, and the quiet cobbled streets.
In between: food, glorious food – from markets to tables, tapas and a twist on the traditional, you understand why lunch should take three hours.
And the wine – when a vineyard like Alta Alella has such a wonderful setting, it’s not surprising the wines created here are just as good.
Plus traditions to discover: tumbling across the Festa Major in Calella, with its traditional ‘giants’, hilltop lighthouse and picturesque old town.
Along with historic Caldes de Montbui, where the hot springs pump out water that fell from the sky 10,000 years ago and the imposing church has its own stories to tell.
And he castle of Castelldefels, uncompromising fortress exterior hiding intricate details and a unique story that stretches from pirates to the Spanish Civil War.
Finish by getting your own heart racing at the man-made waters of the Canal Olimpic, where peaceful canoes paddle gently on the calm surface and cableskiers show off their tricks – between dips.

Costa Barcelona looks absolutely stunning, it is one of those locations I would love to go to one day. Spain in general is just such an exciting country, food and culture and scenery. Sounds like you had an amazing trips there 🙂

Mmm a three-hour lunch over some of the delicious food in these shots sounds divine! Great pics – my favourite is the one showing rows and rows of wine bottles.
