I’m Cathy, a multi award-winning UK family travel blogger, who’s never knowingly underpacked – based in London, I’m mum to the mini traveller (aka 11-year-old Minnie*).

My background

A travel-obsessed writer, I’ve worked as a journalist for over 20 years, setting up this family travel blog in 2012 when I was pregnant – I love travel and didn’t see why having a child should stop me.

MummyTravels has since won numerous awards for top UK family travel blog, including the Brilliance in Blogging award for travel, and has been named as one of Vuelio’s top five family travel bloggers in the UK four years in a row. It’s now one of the most read UK family travel blogs.

I’ve worked with brands from national and international tourist boards to global hotel chains, car manufacturers and book publishers, and also offer copywriting and consultancy through Quill and Ink. I’ve also been featured by Lonely Planet, on the BBC and a host of other travel and lifestyle publications.

During my career, I’ve written for UK national newspapers, travel magazines including National Geographic Traveller, Family Traveller and Sunday Times Travel magazine, as well as more websites and other publications than I can count. I also co-host family travel podcast Kidventures and co-founded the Facebook group London With Kids.

Ways to work with MummyTravels

I work with brands large and small, tourist boards, tour operators and other brands which suit the family travel content on the site. This ranges from reviewing relevant products, experiences and days out to writing sponsored content (both for the blog and brand sites) or full paid brand campaigns.

You can see some examples of the content I’ve created below, with brand collaborations ranging from social media shares and Instagram giveaways to helping to create a video and ebook content, as well as blog posts for a national tourist board.

don’t accept unpaid guest posts for the site or use third-party articles – if you work with me, you can guarantee that the content I create is written bespoke, tailored to your product or campaign.

I create all the content on my blog as well as associated social media and videos, and retain final copy approval – I will always share my honest opinions.

All collaborations are disclosed – see my disclosure policy for more details. Links remain for 12 months unless otherwise discussed.

Testimonials

‘I have worked with Cathy on several projects and she has always been nothing but a delight. She knows exactly what will make a good story for her readers and is one of the most knowledgeable family travel writers out there. Her attention to detail and reporting back is a PR’s dream!’

Fiona Reece, Travel Tonic PR

“Working with Cathy slightly ruins you as a PR as she leaves you wanting this positive experience all the time! Such is her knowledge of family travel, ability to craft a story that suits her ever growing audience AND the brand she collaborates, brilliantly cheerful ways of working and incredibly generous end of collaboration reporting. She stands out because she makes it so easy but the results are always fantastic. I look for reasons to work with her time and again.”

Karen Tippett, Tippett PR

‘We hosted Cathy and her daughter on a trip to Glasgow in advance of the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The resulting blog posts were compelling, entertaining and plentiful. We were delighted at the successful results with some of the posts ranking highly in Google searches, and working with Cathy was a pleasure.’
