St Lucia in pictures: a taste of the Caribbean

We packed so much in in St Lucia – ziplining in the rainforest, bathing in a volcanic pool, picking cacao pods, visiting a local market, taking a boat ride, a mini hike, hitting the beach and the pool – that I hardly know where to start blogging.

I do know that despite jetlag working in my favour last night and me getting a lie in, I’ve come back to a mountain of things to do. So for now, here’s just a taste of our Caribbean trip – St Lucia in pictures.

Toddler fun – hitting the pool and the beach at St James Club Morgan Bay (plus Buster the nursery puppy, who had chosen a good week to come home with us!)

Heading up into the trees for views of the rainforest – and a zipwire adventure

Checking out some of the fantastic fruit – and discovering some distinctly exotic uses for bananas…

The hissing steam from the sulphur springs at Soufriere… aka the drive-in volcano, with its nearby thermal pools to lounge in…

Views of the colourful houses in the harbour at Soufriere – before sneaking off from my daughter briefly to try a chocolate massage with a view of the Pitons.

Heading up into the hills to the Soufriere cacao plantations to try making chocolate – Hotel Chocolat style…

And a chance to see the iconic twin peaks of St Lucia, the Pitons – as well as climbing the stairway to Heaven…
