A five-minute break (and a favour)

It feels like life has been a complete whirl for the past few weeks – planning four trips away almost simultaneously, with a week in Gran Canaria and a long weekend in the New Forest behind us, plus Cornwall coming up very shortly.

Add in a To Do list that seems permanently to be expanding (not least thanks to all that lovely travel and my attempts at vlogging), a delicious headstrong toddler who is moving rapidly into threenager territory and the usual plate juggle of life/work/parenting.

I’ve felt recently that I should hop off the merry-go-round, take some inspiration from this rather lovely tube sign and find five minutes to sit with a piece of cake. Which would at least give me chance to catch up on a few of my favourite blogs.

So if I can tempt you to do the same, I’d like to steal one of those minutes back. I know I seem to be requesting quite a few favours at the moment (sorry), but with blog awards season in full swing, I’d like to ask for one more nomination.

If you’ve already voted for me to make the final in the Brilliance in Blogging awards, where I’m shortlisted for travel, thank you so much – and if not, I’ve got some seriously stiff competition with some fantastic family travel blogs so I’d love it if you could before voting closes at midnight on May 15 (just click here or on the badge to the right).

But it’s also nomination time for the MADs, aka the Mum and Dad blog awards, where I’d love to be named in the Family Travel section – just click here, add www.mummytravels.com or your own pick for blog of the year, and you’ll see the full list of categories to nominate MummyTravels in category five for best family travel blog.

There are so many fantastic bloggers out there it’s tricky to whittle down my suggestions for the rest – I picked a few of my favourites in this post with suggestions for the Bibs but there’s also lovely Laura from Life with Baby Kicks, plus Cathryn from Cardiffmummysays and Kidding Herself who could both go into family fun (along with My Travel Monkey), best blog and best preschool.

And if you have more than those five minutes I was talking about earlier, the MADs linky has a string of other great bloggers explaining why they should be nominated too. If not, here’s that piece of cake I mentioned.

cake-caramel-new-forest-cafeRum, boat rides, Peppa Pig and New Forest ponies will all be coming up too… Not in the same glass.

Thank you!
