Walkies!
Considering I’ve taken Minnie out in the buggy almost every single day of her life, I must be doing a pretty good job – as around a quarter of children said they’d like to spend more time with their parents by going for a walk.
The children might have been a bit older than she is – ages eight to 11 – but it beats the most common way of families to spend time together, by watching TV or DVDs, according to the research from the National Trust. In fact, the only activity which was a more popular request was having a day out.
If, like me, you’re wearing a groove around your local park, they’ve also got hundreds of family walking adventures at National Trust properties as part of the Great British Walk while you can also download free family-friendly trails from the website.
And Mumsnet users have come up with tips to help you have a great time on the walk, from flying a kite and hunting for treasure on a beach to being prepared for whatever the weather throws at you.
