The UK’s most bizarre hotel requests?
I’ve always been relatively low maintenance (I think) but even if I’m about to start getting more demanding of hotels on my travels, I doubt I’ll ever manage to top the peculiar requests some places get.
After all, I’ve never needed to check if my seven penguins can stay (in their own refrigerated van), I’ve never demanded someone stop church bells ringing or asked for the changing of the guard to be changed to another day, and very sadly, I haven’t had to query if I could land a helicopter on the roof – all requests that Travelodge teams have apparently received.
Guests have also tried to check in a Shetland pony and a pet jaguar, asked a receptionist for a bedtime story, a maid to visit the room every two hours and the hotel manager for his shirt, and one insisted something was done about the wind as it was messing up their hair.
Although perhaps instead of queries about travel cots, late checkouts and extra biscuits, I should start being a bit more imaginative…
