How to survive a flight
Nope, it’s nothing to do with the safety briefing on take-off – nearly half of British travellers say they need gadgets to survive a flight.
A Kindle, iPad, mp3 player, Nintendo DS, laptop or DVD player are the essentials we can’t fly without (that’s a lot of chargers…), according to 48% of holidaymakers, although 33% are happy to stick with a book or magazine.
And over a third of travellers want to see inflight films as standard on short-haul flights, along with 10% saying there should be cartoons for children and 6% wanting music videos, in the survey by HolidayExtras.
But if you think it’s men who won’t be parted from their electronic toys, you’d be wrong. Nearly a quarter are happy to switch off and relax, compared to 15% of women.
