Blogs that made me smile
Instead of listening to my ramblings today, I thought I’d share a few links to blogs which made me smile – or got me thinking, or that I just generally liked – over the past week or (with thanks to the friends who tipped me off about them).
The sign of a good post has to be when it makes you laugh, groan and nod your head vehemently. Anyone who’s ever had unsolicited advice will like this tongue-in-cheek piece.
Between breastfeeding fashion and pregnancy weight gain, I feel slightly like I’ve lost my style mojo at the moment, so I’m taking tips from It’s a Mummy Look to remind me it’s not all comfy jeans and flat shoes, as I work my way back to my old wardrobe.
And as the pinkification of my daughter begins, I’m hooked on the thought-provoking Two Colours in My Head, tracking the whole girls get pink sparkly princessy-ness vs blue is for tough little adventurer boys. Teeth-gnashing.

Love the piece about unsolicited advice. So very, very true!

Isn’t it! Especially ‘Your baby’s crying’ – my word, is that what that noise is?

Hi – I can’t see how to leave a general message. I found your blog via the BBC article on separate zones on planes for children. I just wanted to say that our daughter is now 3 years old (our second is due next week), and she’s been a happy traveller since she was about 8 weeks old. We love travelling and were determined (like you) that we would be able to carry on exploring. She’s been to 14 countries so far, by plane, ferry, train, cable car, bus, any type of transport you can think of (no donkeys). At 8 months old we stuck her in our Morris Minor for 7 weeks and took her round Europe – she survived! We’ve just been to Spain and France for 4 weeks – again in the Morris Minor. Children are remarkably adaptable, and we’re looking forward to introducing the new arrival to the joys of travel as soon as we can get the passport application completed.
Best wishes with your travelling,
Catherine

Thanks! I love to hear stories like this and sounds like you’ve had some great travels. Congratulations on your pregnancy too – I wonder how different travelling with two will be?
