Why kids love the simple things in life

Posted by mummytravels

The summer holidays are over for another year, and after weeks of trying to keep the kids entertained, it seems parents could be doing too much. In fact, children crave simple pleasures rather than a string of excursions, organised tours and museum trips.

Kids were asked what they most hated doing while on a family trip, in a survey by Owners Direct, and revealed that visiting museums or historical sites was top, followed closely by going on organised trips.

Unsurprisingly complete boredom doesn’t get the thumbs up either, with sitting around at the airport waiting for flights and transfers also appearing on a list of hates.

Instead their holiday favourites include lazy unplanned days splashing around in the pool or making sandcastles on the beach, the perfect excuse to factor a bit of downtimes into your next trip.

There’s only one dislike which is going to be tricky to avoid – parents revealed their children also hate having to share a room with their siblings while they’re away.
