Family-friendly B&Bs
Bed and breakfast accommodation has had a huge makeover in recent years – instead of dusty fusty chintz, some B&Bs are as glam as boutique hotels. And it’s the same for family-friendly places to stay in the UK as well.
But being able to find the places that genuinely welcome children, rather than the ones which just add it to a list of promises, can be tricky unless you’ve got personal recommendation. So the new Family Collection from enjoybedandbreakfast.com is a great start whether you’re looking for city, beach, rural or randomly quirky B&Bs across the country.
Picked from over 1,500 properties on the site, they’ve all had to show they’ve got specific family-friendly options to be included in the collection, such as highchairs and cots, jungle gyms, children’s menus and even the chance for kids to learn about animals on site.
Others have been included as they’re close to great attractions while some have acres of private land where children can get outside and explore.
You can book online, and there’s a range of budgets to pick from, such as family rooms from £60 at Falstone Barns, Hexham, Northumberland which has play areas for the kids and wine fridges for the grown ups, or from £130 at Barclay House, Looe where there’s baby monitors and cots plus its own heated swimming pool.
