Things I like: Cussons Mum & Me range

There’s some lovely pregnancy pampering ranges out there – I’ve written about a few of my favourite products before on the blog, including Mama Mio’s fabulous Lucky Legs and the Sanctuary’s Mum To Be range, not to mention some of the more indulgent stretch mark oils around.

But almost without exception, the products tend to be at the higher-priced end of the market. So the new Cussons Mum & Me range isn’t just a more purse-friendly option, it cleverly fills a gap with products for pregnancy, new mums and a paediatrician-approved collection for babies.

And it’s not just limited to stretch marks and shower gel either, covering sleep, skin and hair including a few quirky products that you don’t often find, such as the Calm & Soothe Arnica Bath soak, £3.49, in the New Mum collection.

The Bump collection also includes a Cool & Relieve Soothing Spray, £4.49, and Relax & Unwind Sleep Mist, £4.99, both of which I was sent to review – just in time before waving goodbye to my own bump.

The cooling spray might not quite pack the punch of Mama Mio’s Lucky Legs but the peppermint smells lovely, is instantly refreshing for my heavy puffed-up feet and there’s calendula to help relieve swelling too. And the sleep mist contains camomile and lavender, both known to help you relax, although neither is too overwhelmingly strong for sensitive pregnant noses. I could even imagine using these during labour and afterwards.

And while I probably won’t have much chance to try any more of the pregnancy range, I’ll certainly be keeping an eye on the other two collections in future.
